Quatro Update

I wanted to post a beta version of Quatro but it’s not quite ready yet.

Quatro Progress

Working on the lighting and adding some detail meshes.  Lighting is getting closer to how I want it.

Please give us your thoughts on it so far.

Two good maps today, CTF and a HOLP style DM flavours for UT3

two very different maps but both are worthy of a look.

I have updated the review scheme a little to take into account HOLP maps.  It would be unfair to mark them down on eye candy.  Clean and simple but still look like UT3 maps.

DM-Quatro08 Progress

I thought I might post some screenshots of quatro08.  Haven’t posted any in a while and I’ve been working on it.  It’s very much a work in progress but it’s coming together.  I’ve tried not to over use the meshes yet still keep the UT3 look and Quatro feel.

This site recently went passed the 10,000 hit mark.  Big thanks to all those who have visited and keep coming back.  I’ll keep those reviews coming.  I still need feedback on the site or any part of it.  Please post comments are use the polls.  It really helps

New Review

This is DM-Syrinx, Tres Walsh’s first release so he needs and wants some constructive criticism to help his level designing improve. It’s great new people want to try their hand and this.  I know this community can help and support new designers.

I’ll post reviews as and when I do them.  Once a week I’ll send the big news sites a round up of the weeks reviews and hopefully they’ll post them.a

Why not use the very liberal forums whilst you wait for the next review?   ahem:D

Some of you may have noticed the download buttons disappear from the reviews for a few minutes.  This seemed to be a bug within WordPress.  I’ve now changed all the download links back to text so that shouldn’t happen again.  Please let me know if you find any other bugs.

New UT3 Models

In fact there’s lots of new stuff coming out recently.  It’s hard to keep up with everything.  Plus the community is beginning to get that spark back.  People are beginning to re-install UT3 and finding it fun with all the new stuff.

The new models can be found over at Skin City.  You can find other skin and model related stuff for UT3 there as well.  Check out this shot of EvilEngine’s latest.

How about NeoDuck’s recent map?  WAR-Tropico

I haven’t played it yet but I plan on doing so.  Time to fall in love with UT3. 😀

The reviews are coming on and I should be able to post the CBPM3 Vol2 reviews soon.

Voting Rights

You’ve probably noticed the poll on the right hand side.  I’ve also added one to each review.  This allows you to rate the map (preferably after you’ve played it).

I’ve got stuck into the reviews of the CBP3 Vol 2 Pack.  I’m giving each map a full review and then I will give an overall score of the pack with an honorable mention of the models.

The guys over at Runestorm have released a great model pack for UT3.  These are really high quality and I would urge you to download them now.  They have also done other work for UT3.

Fancy some Gears of War objects and meshes to use for you next level design project?  Well now you can.  Over on this thread at BU forums, UX.Loki has managed to convert the assets from Gears of War so they can be used in UT3.  I think we can look forward to some more variety in the maps.
